I just came back from my first – and certainly not last! – trip to Annapolis, capital of Maryland. The city is absolutely adorable, I was really impressed. The buildings, the US Naval Academy campus, the harbor, restaurants and stores seem to all complete each other to create this beautiful and live city.
Annapolis is a very walkable city, and if you can’t get any parking downtown (generally crowded on weekends and with a limit of 2 hs in the parkimeters), park close to one of the Navy Blue bus stops and get a free ride to key places in town. The US Naval Academy Campus is huge, so prepare to walk, but it’s definitely worth the visit. You can easily do the tour by
yourself, but try to watch the free 18min video at the visitor center to get some background.
Whether going for a day trip or spending many days, the Woodwind Schooner should not be missed. The sunset cruise along the bay is stunning and peaceful, and you can even order a glass of wine on board to make the trip even more special. The captain & crew are very nice and will do everything to make your ride more enjoyable.
