Prepaid Cell Phones in the United States

AT&T has the ‘GoPhone’ which basically charges the customer $3 per each day you place or receive calls, for unlimited minutes nationwide. This can be a very good option for people that travel a lot to the US, so they don’t have to pay for a bill when they’re abroad, and especially for those that like talking a lot, since you don’t have to worry about airtime minutes (when typically you’d be charged whether you made or received the call).

I always get my visiting family members a NET10 prepaid. Works out cheap because they mostly just call me to let me know where they are etc. At 10c a minute it is cheaper to buy a month usage card instead of using a service that charges a daily charge.
Thanks for sharing your tip!
I’m adding their link here, so our readers can also check it out: Net10
Do you know if one can buy the phone at a retailer, or only via web and phone? Do you know if the minutes/credit expires?
